Energy Forum in Sopot 2011

In the last days of November we took part in the 6th Energy Forum that took place this year in Sopot, Poland. One of the biggest Energy related events in Central Europe gathered over 250 participants from over 30 countries.

Representatives of Pravda Capital had took part in three conference panels. Jan Pravda presented our views on emissions trading in the panel "EU 20/20/20 Package. Are we Getting Closer to Creating Cleaner and Energy Sufficient Europe?" Later on he took part in the panel called "Investment Potential on the Central European Energy Market" to represent Sanning Capital Ltd. and our hedging fund strategies. On the last day of the conference Maciej Gomolka, during panel named "EU's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and the Coal-Based Economies - in Search for the Best Solutions" presented an Annual Emissions Report analyzing the current situation in the carbon market.

The main topics on the conference were: EU Climate and Energy Package, shale gas development, innovative energy technologies, emissions trading, renewable energy development, privatization in energy sector and smart grids.
